Kill Bad Breath with These 6 Simple Methods

Lets face it, nobody likes bad breath, especially in those important times when being on your A-game counts. Whether it be after you favorite, garlic fueled meal, first thing in the morning or after drinking your much needed midday pick-me-up cup of coffee. Its a fact of life, and one that all of us have experienced and most likely felt the embarrassment of.

But what causes bad breath and how can we fix it?

The most common reason that anyone suffers from halitosis (bad breath) is a dry mouth. A dry mouth occurs because you haven’t been drinking enough water or you have been sleeping or travelling, in which case your body slows down the production of saliva. A dry mouth leads to dead cells on your tongue, which bacteria break down—this process emits a foul odor that we commonly know as bad breath.

Bad breath is usually caused by your tongue, although the same process of bacteria breaking down dead cells and food bits can occur in other parts of your mouth, like with food stuck in your teeth.But for some of us, simply popping a piece of cum into our gobs is not a very effective form of ridding the causes of bad breath, or maybe your a person who suffers from constant mouth odors?

Needing a permanent or quick fix?Well, fear no more, because with these simple steps, you can say bye bye bad breath and hello to fresh permanently, or maybe just temporary for the then and now bad breath badies.

1/ Flossing, Brushing, tongue cleaning & Mouth Wash

This one is a no brainier, but one many people neglect to really consider. Many Adult mouths may contain 500 to 1,000 different types of bacteria as part of the human flora and oral microbiology, but about 100 to 200 species may live in them at any given time, which are the root of your bad breath.

This means proper dental hygiene is a must and by simply taking the time to flesh thoroughly (scraping the in between of the tooth, to remove plaque, rather than just removing food), plus mouthwash can make a resounding difference in the bacteria levels found in your mouth. Also ensure you a cleaning your tongue.. that white stuff on the surface of your tongue, is bacteria.. and as we know, bacteria are responsible for bad breath.. yuck!

2/ Drink more water

As I mentioned above, not drinking enough water can causes the cells of your mouth and in particular your tongue to die, in which the bacteria which love those skins cells, feed on and multiple rapidly, which causes the order.
Tip – If eating out and need to fix bad breath, order water with lime or lemon juice.. lots of it. The acidity in the citrus juice helps to break down bad bacteria.

3/ Chew Sugarless Gum.

Well, duh! We don’t just chew gum because we love the taste. Your favourite gum has multiple purposes, one of which is the stimulate the saliva glands, in order to increase saliva levels, which helps rid the mouth of the dead cells and in turn, the bacteria that feeds on them.

4/ An Apple a Day Keeps The Bad Breath Away

Because an apple takes a lot of work to eat, in relation to most other foods, it helps to remove excess food that may be stuck between your teeth and also helps to naturally freshen your breath. Plus they taste AMAZING. This also rings true for celery and raw carrot, which also help to stimulate saliva and are high in water, which will hydrate your mouth.

5/ Avoid Breath Mints

Be careful with breath mints. Sugar-free mints are OK for a quick fix but only mask the offensive smell and don’t do anything to remove harmful bad bacteria. Tempted to pick up a sugary mint as you leave your favorite restaurant? Don’t. The sugar will only sit on your teeth and make the problem worse

6/ Avoid Then When Fresh Breath Counts

Next time you feel like reaching for that cup of coffee, glass of wine or sneaking out for a quick cigarette to calm your nerves before that big meeting or important event.. don’t. Coffee and alcohol can lead to dehydration and I don’t think I need to mention how horrible tobacco breath can smell. Once you experience that, you will never want to.. ever, ever again. Switch to green or herbal tea, vodka or an e-cigarette when it is a real must.

Now you are well prepared for the next time that bad breath strikes. The most important of these tips is to practice proper dental hygiene. Bad oral health is the root of all bad breath evil and one that is an easy fix, for only 5-10 minutes a day.
